Learn Bass

Private lessons with me are a great way to build on the videos here and take your bass playing to the next level.

Learn to….. Slap, Tap, Groove, Improvise, Write Bass Lines, Sight Read, Train your Ears, Compose and lots more!

Unlock the secrets of the masters: Victor Wooten, Flea, Paul McCartney, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, James Jamerson…

Play songs from…. Jazz, Soul, Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop, Electro, Punk, Reggae and more.

Location

I teach from my home in North London N10 in the relaxed surroundings of the Muswell Hill area.  There is a studio set-up in my house which is ideal for working with backing tracks and I have big library of some of the most popular bass tutorials and CDs.  As pupils come from wide and far (Bristol being the furthest at the last count!) I am not able to offer a ‘travel to pupil’ service at this time.

I offer Skype lessons as an alternative; if you have a web cam and microphone facilities and the basic instrumental skills already there.

Experience

I have taught over 150 private students of all ages, since studying at Edinburgh University and Leeds College of Music.  I have also presented Bass Masterclasses across the UK in Music Schools such as the Academy of Music and Sound.  I teach all Grades (1-8 and Advanced) through the Rock School examination board.

I also have  an up to date CRB check and can provide references for parents etc.

Rates

Lessons are currently £30 per 1 hour session for new students, and I am able to offer big discounts on this rate for block bookings of 5 hours and 10 hours in advance. Please contact me for more info.
